Ariana Zustra is a Dubrovnik-born and Berlin-based journalist and singer/songwriter. As ZUSTRA, she crafts "dark dream pop that develops into a full blown James Bond theme" (Poule d'Or). Her single "The Twinkling Of An Eye" was played on BBC Radio 6, and as her song "Oh No" made it onto the listen to berlin compilation, ZUSTRA became one of Berlin’s most promising newcomers in 2019. In 2020, she was selected for a fellowship by Musicboard Berlin.
Ariana Zustra studied cultural studies, sociology and media science and graduated from the Axel Springer Akademie and the Zeitenspiegel-Reportageschule. She has been working on the German edition of Rolling Stone and as the managing editor for the film magazine ME.Movies. Besides writing for numerous media brands like Musikexpress and Spiegel Online, she has worked as an editor at the indie magazine Die Epilog. She is also part of team of critics in the radio broadcast "Soundcheck" by radioeins. She is the chief editor of the #bebeethoven magazine by PODIUM Esslingen. Zustra has also written numerous press bios for indie and major label artists.
