Charlotte Seither (composer, * 1965 in Landau / Germany) is guest at international festivals like the ISCM World Music Days Tongyeong, Gaudeamus Amsterdam, Wien Modern, Encuentros Santiago de Chile, Biennale di Venezia or BBC Proms. As first German composer she was granted with the 1st Prize in den International Composition Contest Prague Spring. Besides, she is winner of the 1st Prize in the International Composition Contest Ciutat de Palma / Spain, the Foerderpreis of the Ernst von Siemens Musikstiftung a.o. As a composer she is member of the GEMA Advisory Board, board member of the German Composers' League (DKV) and of the Executive Committee of the German Music Council (DMR). She regularly joins international juries and committees. As an Artist in residence she lived and worked at the Cité des Arts Paris, Palazzo Barbarigo Venice, Art Lab Johannesburg and in the Villa Aurora Los Angeles. In 2009 she was awarded with the Rome-Prize for the German Academy Villa Massimo. For her life work in 2010 she was granted with the Praetorius Musikpreis for Composition. In 2020 she was awarded with the Bundesverdienstkreuz am Bande, the hightest honour of the German State. Charlotte Seither is winner of the Deutscher Musikautorenpreis 2014.
